Hip Replacement

Conditions like arthritis can cause hip pain that interferes with everyday activities. In some cases, pain can be managed with nonsurgical treatment. However, if nonsurgical treatment is not effective in relieving pain, hip replacement surgery is an option.

During hip replacement surgery, the damaged portions of the hip are replaced with prosthetic components to relieve pain and allow for better function of the hip. Our surgeons offer different approaches to hip replacement surgery to provide the best possible outcomes for patients. If you are eligible for hip replacement surgery, your surgeon will go over your options to determine what is right for you. Our surgeons can also perform revision hip replacements for patients needing a revision due to infection or implant wear.

Knee Replacement

For many patients, chronic knee pain from arthritis and other degenerative conditions can be effectively managed with nonsurgical treatments like medications and physical therapy. If knee pain persists with nonsurgical treatment, knee replacement surgery may be an option.

Knee replacement surgery involves resurfacing the damaged portions of the knee with prosthetic components. This can reduce knee pain and allow for better function and range of motion in the knee. Our surgeons offer both total and partial knee replacement procedures, depending on the location and extent of arthritis damage in the knee. Our surgeons are also trained in revision knee replacement procedures.

Shoulder Replacement

Shoulder arthritis can be caused by normal wear and tear on the shoulder over time, or may develop after a shoulder injury. If nonsurgical treatments do not help in relieving shoulder pain, shoulder replacement surgery may be an option.

During a shoulder replacement procedure, the damaged portions of the shoulder joint are removed and replaced with prosthetic components. Our surgeons are skilled in both traditional shoulder replacement, as well as reverse total shoulder replacement to provide greater shoulder stability for patients with rotator cuff injuries. If you are a candidate for total shoulder replacement, your doctor will go over your options and recommend the course of action that is best for your needs.

Rotator Cuff Surgery

Rotator cuff tears are one of the most common shoulder injuries. Often, rotator cuff tears happen slowly over time due to wear and tear, but the rotator cuff can also tear due to a sudden injury. The rotator cuff plays a crucial part in movement and stability of the shoulder, so a tear can cause significant weakness and impaired shoulder function.

In many cases, a rotator cuff tear will require surgical repair to improve stability and strength in the shoulder. Our surgeons are trained both arthroscopic and open rotator cuff repair approaches. After an examination, our surgeons work with patients to select the most appropriate surgical approach.

Back Surgery

In many cases, back and neck pain can be managed with nonsurgical treatments like medications and physical therapy. However, if chronic back pain is caused by an underlying condition like a herniated disc, pinched nerve, degenerative disc disease, or compression fracture, surgical intervention may be an option to relieve pain.

Our spine surgeon is fellowship-trained, and can treat a full range of spinal conditions in the neck and back. Below are some of the most common back surgery procedures offered at our practice:

  • Sciatica/disc herniation procedures, including decompression and fusion
  • Lumbar spine surgery, including decompression and fusion
  • Cervical spine surgery, including treatment for cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in neck)
  • Kyphoplasty for compression fractures
  • Thoracic spine surgery
  • Laminectomy

Foot & Ankle Surgery

Foot and ankle conditions can involve the many structures that allow stable pain-free motion including the bones, cartilage, ligaments and surrounding muscles. Ankle arthritis often results in a painful, altered gait which tends to decrease function and quality of life. Ankle replacement (or ankle arthroplasty) is an alternative treatment that is increasing in popularity and allows patients to achieve improved function.

Ankle arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that serves as a diagnostic procedure as well as treatment for certain conditions. Our foot and ankle surgeon is fellowship trained and is focused on advanced foot and ankle surgery, including total ankle replacement and ankle arthroscopy.
